Whats Covered Today....

Global Warming

l

What CAUSES Global Warming?
What are the IMPACTS of Global Warming?
So.... What are the MEASURES taken to reduce Global Warming?

CAUSEs

1. Greenhouse Effect

  • The increase in temperature on Earth due to the increasing amount of Greenhouse Gases (Carbon Dioxide, nitrous oxide, methane and CFCs) produced by natural sources as well as some human activities, agriculture and through industries.
    • Carbon Dioxide (CO2) is produced naturally through transpiration by living things and other means such as burning of fossil fuels to generate electricity and the burning of Forests to clear space for buildings and roads.
    • Nitrous Oxide is emitted by bacteria in soils and ocean and from vehicles' exhaust.  Agriculture is the main cause due to the nitrous oxide produced by human as form of fertilizers, for cultivating soils and animal waste handling.
    • Methane is produced naturally through the decomposition of animal waste. It is also produced by raising livestock and agriculture.
    • CFCs - Cloroflurocarbons found in some aerosol sprays, cooling agents in refrigerators. Also produced by destroying foams.
  • The increase in all these gases due to human activities on earth is the result of Enhanced Greenhouse effect..... which is the cause of Global Warming.
